God has a purpose in the way He has created us. Every person has value in God's eyes, and we have to admit that men and women are designed differently, with specific roles in God's Kingdom plan. When people attempt to twist those purposes and pervert the plan of God, then chaos and confusion ensue. Our God is a God who is devoted to order, and if we follow in His plans, our hearts will reflect a peace and dependence on the Lord that can be particularly useful in these days where there are many who do not want to submit to His ways.

In Genesis 1, we see that God Himself created men and women:
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
I remember taking quite a bit of time in school to learn the use of pronouns. Well, if a professor at my alma mater has her way, traditional pronouns such as "he" and "she" will be replaced by "gender-neutral" versions of pronouns, such as, "“ze, hir, hirs, and xe, xem, xyr."
This is not a joke, even though it sounds really far-fetched. WATE television in Knoxville reports that the University of Tennessee Office for Diversity and Inclusion is asking students and faculty to use the pronouns in order to create a more inclusive campus. They say it alleviates a heavy burden for people expressing different genders or identities.
“We should not assume someone’s gender by their appearance, nor by what is listed on a roster or in student information systems,” Donna Braquet, the Director of the University of Tennessee’s Pride Center said. “Transgender people and people who do not identify within the gender binary may use a different name than their legal name and pronouns of their gender identity, rather than the pronouns of the sex they were assigned at birth.”
It seems that Braquet has requested that teachers ask everyone to provide their name and pronoun instead of calling roll during the first week of class. The article says:
Braquet said if students and faculty cannot use those pronouns, they can also politely say, "'Oh, nice to meet you, [insert name]. What pronouns should I use?' is a perfectly fine question to ask."
Dr. Brown is right - there are deep-seated gender identity issues, and we should respond with compassion. We have to treat those who are struggling in those areas with truth, shared in love.
But people have to admit that these are areas of struggle, not to be celebrated and not to be used as a battering ram to force the culture to accept their misguided philosophies. Rejecting God's view of gender and the distinction of male and female is nothing about which to boast. And, in this age of tolerance, we have to be careful that we are not buying in to views in those areas that are not consistent with the teachings of Scripture. God has specific roles for men and women, and it's important that we line up with those, and not be led by what we feel or what culture attempts to dictate to us regarding what to think.

Are you kidding me? Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey was certainly not amused. He has threatened to put a stop to it during the next legislative session, according to WATE. He is quoted as saying, “How far do you go with this political correctness stuff? This is absolutely amazing,” Ramsey said.
He said he has talked with UT multiple times about this post.

Ramsey said, "Am I upset? Absolutely. This is just silliness that state tax payer dollars are paying somebody to decide that people shouldn’t be called he or she any longer."
...I agree with Senator Mae Beavers who said, “It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.” Think of the money and positions being wasted by this office. God created male and female--you don’t have to have a college degree to understand that. We’re seeing this kind of thing more and more across the country as the secularists and progressives are pushing their godless agenda into our education system and corporate America. I know the good people of Tennessee don’t go along with this nonsense! Maybe Tennesseans ought to write the university and suggest they close this office.
WATE reported last Friday that University of Tennessee President Joe DiPietro sent a letter to the Board of Trustees, saying he is “deeply concerned” about the media attention garnered by an article by UT’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion about gender-neutral pronouns. He said that all references to gender-neutral pronouns would be removed and no campus-wide practices or policies will be posted without his approval. As of Friday evening, the suggestion was no longer on the university’s website.
Author and radio host Michael Brown, in a column on the Townhall.com website, after documenting a list of gender-related controversies, including the one at UT, wrote:
At what point we will realize that the more we deny gender distinctions, the more we deny the most basic foundations of humanity? At what point we will wake up from this descent into moral and social stupor?
It is one thing to have compassion on those who struggle with deep-seated gender identity issues, and I will call for compassion and understanding as long as I have a voice.
It is another thing to turn the world upside down because of the very real struggles of a tiny percentage of people, no matter how fragile they are, no matter how loved by God they are, and no matter how much we want to see them find peace and wholeness. We are seeing in our culture a distinct movement to deny the things of God and His handiwork. In the name of evolution, people take the element of a Creator or designer out of our explanations of origins. And, now we see those who are denying the very distinctions that God Himself makes within the genders. The so-called "confusion" is being manufactured and sold to people who have made themselves vulnerable to these deceptions.
