In John 1:14, we see another verse that addresses the significance of Christ coming to earth:
14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jesus embodied the very Word of God. He was God in the flesh, the perfect substitute for our sins. He was the living expression of God's promises to us, and as we receive Him, walk with Him, and study His Word, we can gain a greater assurance of the salvation that He purchased for us. Jesus has brought the Word of God alive in our hearts.
